Status of Ferdinand
We have to once again analyize our leader Franz Ferdinand and decide if he is beneficial for our country.
He is our leader until the end.
We should resort to other solutions.
Austria Proposes a Mutual Alliance
As Austria has recently became the defender of all Catholics they have reached us with the discussions of an alliance. We can support each other and perhaps benefit from their offer.
Sign the papers!
We won't do it.
The Communist Partisans
During the Civil War, many communists, both from Spain and abroad, joined our ranks, and fought bravely against the Monarchists, becoming national heroes. While their contributions are invaluable, their beliefs are a matter of great controversy. Many of them have organised themselves, and are planning on entering politics.
Honor their struggle, but keep them out of politics.
The republic would be lost without them. They should be in change.
The Iberian Pact
In view of our common history, Spain has proposed an Iberian Pact, where we would not only guarantee each others independence, but form a solid political and military alliance. What should our official response be?
An excellent initiative!
The only one who could ever invade us is Spain itself.
Spain Demands Gibraltar
Reclaiming Gibraltar has long been a goal of Spain, but no-one ever assumed they would ever take any aggressive action to that end, at least not in the near future. That assumption has shattered today, with Spanish officials delivering us with an ultimatum, returning Gibraltar, or be prepared for war.
We have no other choice.
Come and take it!
The Purchase of Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has always been a Spanish colony, until Great Britain occupied the island, and administered it as part of its own colonial empire. Following the british collapse, that island came under our control, making us the subject of Spanish controversy. Spain is willing to negotiate this peacefully, offering to instead buy back the island.
A brilliant display of diplomacy. The deal is settled.
Such a port in the Caribbean is too valuable to be sold.
Fate of New Granada
New Granada, our last remaining colony in the South American continent, used our civil war as a pretext to declare independence. Reclaiming it, and its rich oilfields is imperative. The question is what approach should we use. We could either offer them vassalization, where they will rejoin our empire as a dominion, or outright invade them.
Offer Vassalization
Plan our Invasion
New Granada Refuses our Offer!
Despite of our best intentions, the [From.GetAdjective] government has refused to even listen to what we have to offer, calling our proposal a sham, and a threat to their national determination.
Only one option left...
We should back down.
Fate of Morocco
Morocco, once our most prized possession in Africa, declared its independence in the wake of the civil war, becoming an independent kingdom. While the most appropriate reaction for us would be to invade them right away, there are many who feel that it would be more beneficiary to have them as an ally than as an enemy, making them a dominion in our empire.
Diplomacy
War
Morocco Refuses our Offer!
Despite our best intentions, Morocco refused our deal, claiming that the era of Spanish domination is over. Maybe diplomacy wasn't the best option.
Then War it is.
We will back down.
